PRODUCTION OF BOEING 777 PARTS HAS BEEN INAUGURATED AT THE PRECISION ENGINEERING COMPLEX (PEC) OF PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES (PIA) IN KARACHI. PIA CHAIRMAN TARIQ KIRMANI CONGRATULATED THE PEC CHIEF AND HIS TEAM OF ENGINEERS FOR ATTAINING GLOBAL RECOGNITION FOR MANUFACTURING AVIATION PARTS FOR THE BOEING COMMERCIAL AIRPLANES COMPANY, ACCORDING TO A STATEMENT. HE URGED THE PIA WORKFORCE TO STRIVE FOR EXPANDING THE CUSTOMER BASE IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET. THE PEC IS ENGAGED IN PRODUCING STATE-OF-THE-ART AVIATION PRODUCTS FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS LIKE AIR BUS INDUSTRY AND GENERAL ELECTRIC OF THE UNITED STATES BESIDES FISCHER ADVANCED COMPOSITES COMPANY (FACC) OF AUSTRIA AND THE BOEING COMMERCIAL AIRPLANES. THE PEC WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1978 AND HAS EVER SINCE CONTRIBUTED IN ESTABLISHING STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGIES INCLUDING CNC MACHINING, ELECTRONICS FABRICATION AND DESIGN, PRODUCTION OF OPTICAL ELEMENTS, MANUFACTURING OF PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS, INVESTMENT CASTING & RELATED TECHNOLOGIES. AS A RESULT OF PURCHASE OF EIGHT BOEING 777 AIRCRAFT, THE BOEING COMPANY GAVE THE RIGHTS TO PEC TO PRODUCE BOEING 777 AIRCRAFT PARTS. THE PEC ENJOYS THE STATUS OF DSQR (DESIGNATED SUPPLY QUALITY REPRESENTATIVE) WHICH ALLOWS PEC PARTS TO GO DIRECTLY TO GENERAL ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT ENGINES (GEAE) ASSEMBLY LINES.
