The Egyptian Government has decided to nominate Amr Mousa as the secretary general of the Arab League for a new term. Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Abul-Ghait said in a press statement published here today that Egypt has officially presented the nomination of Amr Mousa to the Arab League. He noted that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak had earlier sent messages in this respect to the Arab leaders. Abul-Ghait pointed out that the Arab countries have welcomed the renewal of the term of office of Amr Mousa as the Arab League's secretary general.
