Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abul Ghait has condemned the terror act which targeted the US consulate in Jeddah on Monday. In a statement published here on Thursday, Abul Ghait noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had earlier called for convening a conference on combating terrorism next February. He pointed out that Egypt had frequently warned the countries of the world against the menace of terrorism. Abul Ghait said Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak had proposed convening of an international conference under the supervision of the United Nations for tackling the problem of the terrorism phenomenon.
