The board of trustees of the unions of the American inventors has decided to award the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz the permanent honorary membership of the unions of the American inventors. This was announced by executive director of the unions of the American inventors Dr Robert Locker here on Tuesday evening at a party held in honor of the Saudi inventors under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the governor of Qassim region. Robert Locker said the decision of the board of trustees in this respect comes in recognition of King Abdullah's significant role in encouraging inventions and inventors as well as for his presidency to King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for the Gifted. Robert Locker pointed out that King Abdullah was one of the few personalities who have been awarded the honorary membership of the unions of the American inventors. 'Only 12 international personalities have so far been awarded the honorary membership of the unions of the American inventors', he said. On behalf of King Abdullah, minister of education Dr Abdullah bin Salih al-Obaid, who is also the vice-president of King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for the Gifted, received the certificate of the honorary membership and the personal gift. It is worth mentioning that the organization of the unions of the American inventions was established in 1955. About 10,000 inventors are working under the supervision of this organization. The organization has been undertaking the supervision of about 100 organizations of inventors and providing them with the required support and services.
