A car bomb targeting an Iraqi police patrol exploded near a market north of Baghdad, killing at least five people and injuring 15, police said. The bomb was detonated by remote control shortly after 10.35, police said. Baqouba, a city 60 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Baghdad, has been hit by a string of explosions since the Feb. 22 bombing of a revered shrine in Samarra triggered a wave of sectarian violence, the Associated Press reported.
