Twenty-four people were killed on Saturday when a mini-bus taxi, a truck and a car crashed in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province, local media reported. Public broadcaster the SABC said the dead included 4 children. Police could not be immediately reached for confirmation. South Africa has a poor road safety record with accidents killing 10,000 people every year. Many involve poorly maintained minibuses which most of the country's poor rely on for transport, Reuters reported.
