Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayers were performed Monday morning throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in line with the tradition of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) whenever there is delay in the on-set of rain season or drought occurs. In a statement issued by the Royal Court Friday, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz called on people to perform "Istisqa" prayers on Monday morning. The statement urged the people to resort to repentance, help the poor, increase the additional prayers and good deeds as well as make appeals to Allah Almighty. 'Those physically able to perform prayers are earnestly requested to show up at early morning Istisqa prayers', the statement said.
