Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi on Thursday condemned bomb blast in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP) on Thursday, which left a large number of mourners in Muharram procession killed or injured. Asefi dismissed such measures, saying, "Assassination of innocent people during religious processions is in open contradiction with the humanitarian fundamentals of the noble religion of Islam." He said enemies of unity among Shiites and Sunnis are behind such inhumane measures and Muslims are needed to defuse such plots through unity and vigilance.
