UN secretary general Kofi Annan has strongly condemned printing caricatures insulting to Islam and Muslims. Annan, who was commenting on re-printing of cartoons of Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, earlier published by a Danish newspaper, said freedom of expression does not necessarily mean the right to hurt feelings of others, and added 'newspapers should behave in a responsible manner'. He pointed out that re-printing of such cartoons will lead to escalation of tension and sedition.
