The Islamic Labor Front, the biggest political organization in Jordan, has asked French President Jacques Chirac to punish the French newspaper which re-published cartoons of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him). The Front, in a statement issued here today, expressed sorrow over the failure of the French newspaper 'France Soir' to learn lessons from the Danish newspaper "Jyllands-Posten" which had earlier insulted the Prophet (PBUH). The statement called on the French government to apologize to the Muslim nations, otherwise the Arab-French relations are destined towards "deterioration and tension." Earlier a delegation from the Islamic Labor front handed over a message of protest to the French newspaper which had insulted the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). The Front urged the French government to make an official apology in this respect.
