Saudi ambassador to U.S. Prince Turki Al-Faisal has criticized cartoons denigrating Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) published in the European media. He told CNN on Sunday that the cartoons were "offensive and represented absolutely horrible depictions of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh)." Twelve cartoons, first published last September by the conservative Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, and then reprinted by a Norwegian magazine, have caused uproar in the Muslim world. "They are absolutely horrible depictions of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), a man esteemed not just by Muslims but even by non-Muslims," Prince Turki Al-Faisal said, appealing for calm and dialogue rather than violence.
