Franco Frattini, Vice-President and EU Commissioner responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security called on Friday for containing the repercussions of the anti-Islamic attack in a number of EU countries and avoiding provocation of Muslims. In a press release issued here today, Frattini described as "inappropriate" the caricatures about Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) published by some European newspapers. He also said that Europe believes in the freedom of speech, adding that he understands the feelings of anger and condemnation of Muslims. Frattini noted that such things would not boost dialogue among civilizations.
