Saudi Minister of Finance Ibrahim Al-Assaf said Wednesday that the Saudi people have donated an amount of SR 150 million to help finance construction of homes for the quake-affected people and noted total donations in cash and kind reached SR 450 million. In a statement to The Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Assaf said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia established a field hospital in Manseerah city immediately after the earthquake hit Pakistan. He added that a royal decree has been issued to establish another field hospital in the same city. Al-Assaf also disclosed that the Saudi government allocated SR500 million to ease the impact of the quake in addition to an emergency assistance of SR 37.5 million. He said that this gift would be paid through the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) to finance projects in the fields of housing, roads, education and health in the quake-affected regions. He also said that a sum of SR 500 million was allocated to finance Saudi exports to Pakistan.
