Iran's top nuclear negotiator said on Thursday a Russian proposal to solve its nuclear standoff was useful but further talk was needed. "The Russian suggestion is a useful one, but needs to be discussed further," Ali Larijani told a news conference in Beijing, where he is on a one-day visit. He also said the Chinese and Iranian viewpoints on the issue were very close and that it should be resolved in a peaceful manner. Russia has proposed that Iranian uranium be enriched on Russian soil -- a compromise backers say would give Iran nuclear power but restrain any moves to make weapons, according to a report of Reuters.
