Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left Tehran for Damascus today on a two-day official visit to hold talks with his Syrian counterpart Bashar Al-Assad on key bilateral, regional and international issues. In a departure statement, President Ahmadinejad said Iran and Syria enjoy a sustainable and very broad-based ties in all fields. He also said that the visit would bolster the bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that Iran opposes the policy of arrogance and foreign intervention in the region's issues.
