President of the Iranian Organization for Hajj and Visits Sayyed Ahmad Zarhan has highlighted the fostering Saudi-Iranian relations, and praised the intensive efforts being exerted by the Saudi authorities to ensure the comfort of the pilgrims. 'These intensive efforts for the service of the pilgrims are not a strange matter for a country which has been raising the slogan of 'Service of the Pilgrims is Honor for Us', he said in a press statement after attending the party organized by the Iranian Hajj mission today in honor of the board of directors of the establishment of guides of the Iranian pilgrims. He noted that the Iranian pilgrims had adhered to the grouping plan at al-Jamrat bridge at the time set by the establishment. Zarhani underlined the importance of putting an end to the phenomenon of irregular pilgrims who stay along the roads and under bridges, and called for cooperation of the Hajj missions with the Saudi Government so as to avoid occurrence of problems at the Jamrat zone. He pointed out that the Iranian Organization for Hajj and Visits has been organizing awareness television programs and lectures and distributing booklets which contain the regulations of Hajj. Meanwhile, Zarhani said seven Iranian pilgrims had died at the Jamrat zone while they were returning after throwing the pebbles.
