Poland names new commander of extended military mission in Iraq

Defense Minister Radoslaw Sikorski
on Tuesday named a new general to command Polish troops in
Iraq as he laid out the logistics of Poland's extended
military mission in the country.
Gen. Edward Gruszka will head Poland's sixth troop
rotation in Iraq, which will be scaled down from the
current 1,400 troops to 900 by mid-February, Sikorski said
at a news conference, the Associated Press reported.
