U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Friday after data showed a sharp increase in U.S. aircraft orders and amid reports by the Wall Street Journal that Boeing Co. may be close to beating rival Airbus for a plane order. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 4.56 points, or 0.04 percent, at 10,894.00. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 0.42 points, or 0.03 percent, at 1,268.54.
