Ports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia handled more than 1.92 billion tons of goods during the last 29 years. These ports also engaged in the clearance of about 95 percent of the Kingdom's exports and imports. A report issued by the Ports Authority said the Kingdom in 1424-1425Ah had eight ports with 183 wharves which were capable of receiving the most largest ships in the world and working around the clock. These ports are provided with developed guidance systems and are capable of ensuring the safety of navigation.
