Russia's Putin congratulates Kazakh leader on election victory

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Kazakhstan's Nursultan Nazarbayev on Monday on what he said was a "convincing victory" in Sunday's election.
A Kremlin statement said Putin offered his congratulations in a phone conversation with Nazarbayev.
The two men expressed their intention of doing everything to develop and strengthen "good neighbourliness, alliance and the strategic partnership," the statement said.
