Two people were killed Monday when a private plane crashed shortly after take off from Kaduna in northern Nigeria en route to Abuja, DPA reported. Sam Adurogboye, an aide of the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, said the U.S.-registered Beechcraft-200 belonged to the private airline King Air. The captain and a female passenger died in the crash, Adurogboye said, but he declined to clarify the number of occupants. "The aircraft has just returned to Nigeria on Saturday, November 26, after regular maintenance in the United Kingdom at a facility certified by the American Federal Aviation Administration," he added. The Nigerian Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau had begun probing the accident and had notified the U.S. National Transport Safety Board.
