A Nigerian plane crashed and burst into flames at Port Harcourt airport on Saturday, killing 103 people, and a mother awaiting news of her child said 75 of those on board were high-school students, Reuters reported. Civil aviation officials said the Sosoliso Airlines flight from the capital Abuja to the oil city in the southern Niger Delta missed the airport runway in bad weather. Seven of the 110 people on board survived the crash. "I called the school and they confirmed there were 75 students on board," said a distraught mother at the airport. She said the children were from a Jesuit college in Abuja. The cause of the crash was unknown but civil aviation spokesman Samuel Adurogboye said the DC9 aircraft "ran into bad weather". It was carrying 103 passengers and seven crew. Officials said 60 bodies had been recovered so far.
