The World Health Organization chose Saudi Arabia from among 22 countries of the eastern Mediterranean region to be the destination to which WHO's employees working in the region's countries will be transported for treatment in extremely emergency cases which require urgent medical evacuation, General Supervisor of Media and Health Awareness at the Ministry of Health Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Marghalani said. Dr. Marghalani explained that Saudi Arabia received a letter from the regional director of WHO for the eastern Mediterranean lauding the distinguished health services in Saudi Arabia and stating that this choice was based on world respect of Saudi Arabia and the excellent services provided by Saudi medical facilities. He added that those employees will be treated at the expense of WHO as they enjoy comprehensive insurance cover.
