Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Interior Minister and General Supervisor of the Saudi Committee for Relief of the Palestinian People, has directed that fifty complete dialysis units with their special chairs be distributed among a number of hospitals and medical centers in Palestine in cooperation with World Health Organization and in coordination with concerned authorities in Palestine. Advisor to the Interior Minister and Chairman of the Saudi Committee for the Relief of the Palestinian People Dr. Saed Ala'rabi Alharthi said the implementation of this urgent program comes in response to a request by the regional director of the World Health Organization for Eastern Mediterranean who asserted the Palestinian medical sector's need for medicines and medical equipment to provide appropriate medical services to the Palestinian people. The advisor stated that this program is part of several health projects carried out by the committee in Palestine in cooperation with international organizations with a total cost exceeding 102,916,977 riyals. Dr. Alharthi added that the committee is continuing its efforts to implement its relief programs in Palestine which exceeded 40 programs with a total cost of more than sr 761,935,949. He said that the committee also signed several agreements to implement some relief programs and projects for the Palestinian people with many international organizations costing more than sr187,714,532.
