Two Saudi cargo planes laden with 80 tons of relief items are scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Sunday and Monday under special directives of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, to coincide with the state visit to Pakistan of Deputy Minister of Interior Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz who will review the massive Saudi relief operations in the earthquake-affected areas of Pakistan. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Saed Alorabi Alharithi, Advisor to the Minister of Interior and head of the Saudi popular campaign to solicit assistance for quake-hit needy Pakistanis, said the first plane, laden with 600 tents and eight tons of medicines and medial appliances, will arrive in Islamabad on Sunday while the second one, carrying 70 tons of foodstuffs, will arrive the next day. In air-and-sea lifts, the campaign has so far sent 26 containers weighing 572 tons of relief and food materials out of 100 containers currently being loaded to help alleviate the sufferings of the quake-stricken areas and people in Pakistan, Alorabi reported.
