A bomb planted in a car near a paramilitary police station went off in southeastern Turkey, injuring 10 people including three soldiers and two police officers, the Anatolia news agency reported Wednesday. The bomb, believed to have been planted by autonomy-seeking Kurdish rebels, exploded just before midnight on Tuesday in the town of Semdinli, in Hakkari province, where the borders of Turkey, Iran and Iraq meet. The blast caused a temporary blackout in Semdinli and shattered many windows in the town, the agency said.
