The U.N. children's fund UNICEF has joined other charities in suspending aid activities in northern Uganda after guerrilla attacks on relief convoys left two dead and four injured, officials confirmed Saturday. "We are also affected. There is a temporary suspension of operations. This weekend, there is going to be a suspension. There will be a revaluation of the security situation on Monday," UNICEF's spokesman in Kampala, Hyun Chulho, told DPA. The Lord's Resistance Army was blamed for this week's attacks on vehicles in which two Ugandan relief workers were killed and four injured. The agencies have been providing food and non-food items, including medicine, shelter, blankets and cooking utensils to more than 1.5 million Ugandans affected by the 19-year-old war waged by the Lord's Resistance Army.
