British police arrested a man on suspicion of possible links to the July 7 bomb attacks in London, Scotland Yard said Sunday, DPA reported. He was arrested Saturday night after a tip-off from the editors of a newspaper in Leeds. According to the News of the World tabloid, who had handed over the results of their research to Scotland Yard, the man is a Moslem who was born in Britain. Terrorists had attempted to hire him as a fifth attacker in the London bombings. The man, whom the newspaper named as Imran Patel, had taken part in weapons training in Pakistan. He had refused to participate in the bomb attacks in London, but remained silent to save "Moslem brothers" from imprisonment. The bomb attacks on London underground stations in July and on a bus claimed 56 lives including the four suicide bomb attackers. --SP 2156 Local Time 1856 GMT
