America's top diplomat, Karen Hughes, is looking forward to spending her weekend in Malaysia, to join a breaking-fast party with Malaysians, and to listen to concerns they may have on America's policies and Islam. "I am very excited about this trip and I look forward to a breaking-fast party with Malaysians at the U.S embassy this weekend," said Hughes to Malaysian News Agency Bernama in an interview here. On Monday, she will leave for a "Listening Tour" that will take her to Jakarta, Aceh and Kuala Lumpur on Oct 20-24. Hughes, the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the Department of State, regarded her visit to Malaysia as important because "Malaysia is at a unique moment" in history where it is leading three top organizations including Asean, the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). "I am eager to listen and learn from Malaysia, a very important partner, with leadership position in so many important organizations. We have a lot to learn from Malaysia's tolerance, diversity, and integration of faith."
