Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa began his first postwar visit to Baghdad on Thursday on what officials say is a mission to promote national reconciliation, Reuters reported. League officials have said Moussa is expected to meet Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari, President Jalal Talabani and leading Shi'ite cleric Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani. For security reasons, the 22-member league had not announced the timing of the secretary-general's visit, his first to Iraq since a U.S.-led invasion toppled Saddam Hussein in 2003.
