U.S. technology shares ended higher on Thursday as the Nasdaq Composite Index got a boost from a rally in Apple Computer Inc. a day after it introduced new products, while a drop in oil prices offered support to blue-chip stocks. Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average was down just 0.32 of a point, or 0.00 percent, to end unofficially at 10,216.59. Initially, just as the closing bell rang, the Dow was up just 0.48 of a point at 10,217.39. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 0.84 of a point, or 0.07 percent, at 1,176.84. But the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 9.75 points, or 0.48 percent, at 2,047.22.
