Saudi Aramco is participating in the 18th World Petroleum Congress, now in progress in Johannesburg. It is organized by the International Petroleum Council. The Congress, entitled: Embodiment of Energy: Partners in Sustainable Solutions' was recently inaugurated in the presence of South African President Thabo Mvuyelwa Mbeki and a number of oil and energy ministers as well as the executive directors of the world oil companies including Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Ali Al-Naimi. Experts and engineers of Saudi Aramco will deliver at the Congress a number of working papers on oil exploration and production as well as challenges facing oil exploration. As many as 400 delegates will present their working papers at the Congress, focusing on subjects like international specifications for oil discovery and production, the increasing demand for oil, challenges and achievements of the oil industry, the impact of oil refinery on the environment, new energy sources and other issues of prime concern to the Oil industry. Saudi Aramco is also participating in an exhibition, which is organized on the fringe of the Congress. It is displaying photographs which project the significant role being played by Saudi Aramco to provide the world with energy supplies in addition to the ongoing tireless efforts for the preservation of the environment.
