Humeidi, speaking on behalf of the President of King Abdulaziz City for Sciences and Technology (KACST), highlighted the efforts of the Saudi government for the development of the telecommunications and data systems. On his part, Eng Abdullah Al-Mugbil, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Roads Affairs, underlined the importance of the system of Galileo and said it could be used in the domains of civil aviation, transport, communications, oil, gas, and electronic commerce. The Galileo system will open new investment horizons for the private sector, he said. On his part, Prince Mishaal bin Majed bin Abdulaziz said the Kingdom is one of the first countries outside the European community which try to join this modern world system of Galileo. He pointed out that citizens and residents will benefit from this system.
