Presided over by its chairman Dr. Salih bin Abdullah bin Homaid, the Shoura Council held its 33rd ordinary session to mark the 75th anniversary of the national day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a statement on the occasion, bin Homaid said this day is not just a remembrance of the unification of the Kingdom by late founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, but an accumulation of historical incidents that all together formed the entity of Saudi Arabia which now turned to be a strategic point in the Arab and Islamic geography, a decision-maker in the Middle East politics and economics and an influential force in the international arena. He said the sons of King Abdulaziz followed his philosophy taking the Sharia law and deeds and sayings of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) as bases of their rule. The unprecedented successes of this march in terms of record time cannot be ignored, he said. On the eve of this occasion, the Kingdom ushered in a new promising era of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, he said. --More 2129 Local Time 1829 GMT
