Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, Head of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development, stressed the importance of the civil society in achieving societal development in the countries of the Arab world. In a press conference he held today following the opening earlier today in Alexandria, Egypt, of a conference on Arab children, he called for supporting the role civil society to be an effective aid to governments. He also called for providing financial resources to private societies and civil society to enable them to carry out their responsibilities.
