Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Riyadh-based Gulf Cooperation Council met in New York last night with Indian Foreign Minister K. Natwar Singh and accompanying delegation on the fringes of the 60th General Assembly of the United Nations. The GCC side was chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak, Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, who is chairman of the current GCC ministerial council. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Alatiyyah, Secretary General of the GCC, also took part in the meeting which was chaired on the side of India by Foreign Minister K. Natwar Singh. The two sides discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the GCC and India and reviewed the situation in Iraq, Middle East developments, terrorism combat and United Nations reforms.
