Upon his arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah earlier today, visiting President Ali Abdullah Salih of Yemen expressed pleasure of his visit and accompanying delegation to the Kingdom. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, President Salih expressed said his current visit to the Kingdom comes as part of the continuing contacts between the leaderships of the two countries. He said he will hold talks with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and re-congratulate him, in his own name and on behalf of the Yemeni people, on assuming the throne of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to continue the path of prosperity, progress and achievements under his wise leadership. He said the visit would be a good chance to discuss whatever enhances the cordial fraternal ties between the two countries. President Salih expressed satisfaction over the steady progress of relations, coordination and cooperation currently existing between the two neighboring countries at all levels. He cited the signing of the historic Jeddah Accord which laid the base for a strong boost of relations between the two countries and peoples. He said discussion will also cover the regional, Arab and international developments of mutual concern, led by the situations in Iraq and Palestine. He said the two sides will discuss ways of coordinating the positions of the two countries towards tense issues, particularly the fight against terrorism. President Salih called on Saudi investors to avail themselves of the numerous investment opportunities in Yemen where, he said, they will find every care, facilities and welcome. --More 1926 Local Time 1626 GMT
