The 17th session of the Saudi Yemeni Coordination Council, held in Mukalla, Yemen, from June 1 - 2, 2006 under the co-chaimanship of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, and Yemeni Prime Minister Abdulqadir Bajammal, has issued a joint communique at the conclusion of its deliberations here today. In continuation to the approach adopted by the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Sultan has paid a three-day state visit to Yemen during which he was received by President Ali Abdullah Salih to discuss bilateral relations. The president and the Crown Prince expressed satisfaction over the efforts being exerted by officials in the two countries to consolidate these relations. They confirmed determination to continue enhancing fruitful cooperaion in all fields to the aspirations of the two countries. The Yemeni side expressed appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for his call to forge a program framework for development in Yemen to support comprehensive development and to rehabilitate the Yemeni economy. Addressing the opening session, Crown Prince Sultan and Bajammal confirmed the keenness of the leaderships of the two countries on enhancing the joint cooperation relations in all fields and expressed satisfaction over the steps taken within the ongoing coordination and cooperation between the two countries. --More 02/06/2006 22:29
