, 32-, 37- and 42-inch LCD TV modules as well as flat screen LCD computer monitors. Initial annual production of TV modules will total 3 million units with plans for 11 million units by 2011. All are pegged for export. LG Electronics also plans to build a consumer durables factory worth 369 million zloty (117.7 million dollars) that will generate an additional 3,200 jobs in the same locality, according to Polish reports. The investment was secured by Poland's Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIIZ). The state-run agency had drawn sharp criticism in the past for losing hefty investors such as carmaker Hyundai to smaller neighbour Slovakia. Tax-relief was part of the investment package offered by Poland to LG Philips LCD. Poland can expect close to 10 billion dollars in Foreign Direct Investment this year, Deputy Economy and Labour Minister Marcin Kaszuba said Friday. Poland already produces a quarter of E.U. TV sets. Employing some 15,000 people globally, LG Philips LCD is the world's largest producer of LCD modules.
