President George Simbayo of the Republic of Portugal received at the presidential palace in Lisbon today visiting Prince Khalid Alfaisal, the Governor of Assir Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, Prince Khalid Alfaisal conveyed to the president the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General. On his part, the president welcomed Prince Khalid, wishing him good stay in Portugal. He lauded the firm relations binding the two countries in all cultural and economic fields. During the meeting, they exchanged cordial talks and discussed a number of issues of mutual concern. The meeting was attended by the Saudi Ambassador to Portugal Mohammed Homoud Alrasheed and Portugal's Ambassador to the Kingdom Nenric Porges. Earlier, Prince Khalid visited the Islamic Center in Lisbon where he met with the leader of the Muslim community. He was briefed on the contents and role of the center. A speech ceremony was held on the occasion. Speaking to the gathering, Prince Saud Alfaisal called the visit among the rare memories of his life. He called for co-existence among civilizations and cultures of human kind.
