EU governments on Wednesday backed a deal to unblock Chinese textiles held at EU borders, ending a trade row that saw more than 77 million garments pile up at customs after imports exceeded 2005 limits. The executive European Commission said member states had approved the deal struck Monday between EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson and Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai to allow half of the excess garments into the market outside of quota rules, and half to be counted against limits for this year and next year, according to a report of The Associated Press.
