Turkish troops killed three Kurdish guerrillas on Saturday in a clash in southeast Turkey, bringing the total number of rebels killed in the past days to six, security officials were quoted by Reuters as reporting. Security forces launched their operation against a large group of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels in a rural part of Batman province on Thursday evening. The security officials were not immediately able to give any further information on the latest clash. On Friday, they deployed Sikorsky and Cobra helicopters against the rebels. The operation in Batman province comes just a week after the PKK ordered its armed wing to refrain from violence for a month. Security officials say it began after the rebels responded to a call to surrender by opening fire. --More 2157 Local Time 1857 GMT
