A woman travelling in a Turkish military convoy was killed and ten other people hurt on Friday when their minibus hit a landmine near the Iraqi border in the country's troubled southeast, a military official said. The injured included soldiers as well as civilian relatives of soldiers in a minibus that had joined the convoy for security purposes in Sirnak province. Authorities accused the separatist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) of planting the mine. In a separate incident, two PKK rebel were killed in a clash with Turkish security forces in Batman province, a security official said. One of the rebels was identified as a foreign national, but the official offered no further details. Security forces were carrying out sweeping operations backed by air support in both Batman and Sirnak, the officials said.
