Pakistan's Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz stressed need for concrete steps to remove misconceptions and misunderstanding about Islam which is religion of peace, harmony, tolerance and understanding, Pakistan Press International (PPI) reported Friday. Talking to outgoing Bosnian Ambassador in Pakistan Avdo Abdullah Hodzic, he said Organization of Islamic Conference-representative body of Muslim Ummah is "best platform" for concrete efforts to remove misunderstandings about Islam which believes in interfaith harmony, dpa quoted the report as saying. Referring to war on terrorism, Shaukat Aziz said Muslim Ummah must unite to fight this scourge of global terrorism. He emphasised need to address root causes of terrorism by removing political injustices and sense of deprivation among Muslims. Islam, he said, rejects all type of sectarianism, extremism and violence besides rejecting theory clash of civilizations. He called on Muslim countries to forge unity for development and progress of Ummah world over.
