Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam have agreed on the draft for a bilateral convention on avoidance of double taxation, according to an official statement. The two countries agreed on the draft after three-day talks between their tax officials. The three-member Brunei Darussalam tax delegation was headed by Haji Mumin, Director of Special Duties (Revenue), Ministry of Finance. Salman Nabi, Member (Direct Taxes), Central Board of Revenue of Pakistan led the Pakistan side. Both sides presented and appreciated each other's respective positions and in continuation of the spirit of accommodation and brotherly relations existing between the two countries. The two delegations, after extensive deliberations agreed on the draft for the Convention on Avoidance of Double Taxation. They expressed the hope that this Convention will augment the already existing trade and economic relations between the two countries and open new avenues to the best interests of business communities of the contracting states.
