A Katusha rocket landed in the southern Israeli tourist resort of Eilat Friday morning, damaging a passing car and bus, Israel Radio monitored here by dpa reported. The rocket, which had a range of seven kilometres and carried half a kilogramme of explosives, penetrated the car, then partially exploded when it hit the road, creating a one-metre deep hole in the ground. It landed just 50 metres from the runway of the local airport, where scores of tourists are transported every day. A bus driving in the opposite direction was also damaged and had its windows broken. No injuries were immediately reported. The rocket was apparently fired from Jordanian territory and authorities were checking whether there was a connection with explosions in the town of Aqaba. Both towns are located opposite each other on the gulf of the Red Sea. Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz said Israeli and Jordanian intelligence were working together to investigate the incident. --SP 1335 Local Time 1035 GMT
