Police announced Friday the seizure of 68 kilogrammes of heroin in Upper Austria province. Speaking to reporters, they said the discovery of the third- biggest haul of the drug ever on Austrian territory had been in the early hours of Wednesday. In checks by police and customs officers near the town of Wels, their attention had been drawn to a truck driven by a 49-year-old Turkish citizen. The heroin was hidden in the driver's cabin in 65 small packets and had a total street value of 40 million euros. Last year, the biggest-ever heroin haul of 113 kilogrammes was found in Vienna.
