He assured Pakistan of the World Bank's all out support to the reforms programme of the government. This is his first visit to South Asian region as President of the World Bank. He wished Independence Day greetings to the government and people of Pakistan. During his visit, the World Bank chief will meet President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz besides meetings with senior economic, education, infrastructure and governance teams.
