Violent clashes between Iraqi soldiers and insurgents in the northern city of Tal Afar left one civilian and three suspected insurgents dead, according to hospital officials Tuesday. Thirteen others were also injured from the clashes, said Dr. Saleh Haider, director of Tal Afar Hospital. Three civilians were killed when mortar shells fell on their homes in a residential neighborhood in the western part of the city, he said. It was unclear who had fired the mortars, according to a report of The Associated Press.
