The fourth scientific conference on 'the care of the gifted and outstanding persons' began its deliberations here today. The conference is organized by the Riyadh-based Organization of King Abdulaziz and his Companions for the Gifted with the participation of about 500 educationists from 13 Arab and foreign countries. Addressing the conference's inaugural session, held in the presence of Ghazi bin Talal, the Advisor of the Jordanian King, Saudi Minister of Education and Vice-Chairman of the Organization of King Abdulaziz and his Companions for the Gifted Dr Abdullah Al-Obeid underlined the importance of the conference. He called for cooperation and coordination for taking care of the gifted. Dr Al-Obeid highlighted the intensive efforts exerted by the Organization of King Abdulaziz and his Companions for the Gifted, and the Arab Council for the Care of the Gifted for holding the conference. On his part, Fat'hi Jarwan, the representative of the Arab Council of the Care of the Gifted, hailed the efforts exerted by the Organization of King Abdulaziz and his Companions for the Gifted to develop the scientific programs pertaining to the care of the gifted. Meanwhile, Muna Salah, the representative of the Arab League's General Secretariat, underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation among the Arab countries for taking care of the gifted. The activities of the conference include workshops and formation of specialized committees for the development of studies and researches pertaining to the care of the gifted.
